Adoption

Our adoption story probably isn't that unique.

We tried to conceive for about five years before we began discussing and praying about adoption.

They weren't easy years, I struggled a lot with feelings of failure. Because no one could tell us why we weren't able to have a baby, we had a hard time with the label of "infertility." After a lot of discussion, a lot of prayer and a lot of tears we decided to begin our adoption journey in August of 2015. On October 28th, 2016 we received word that we were officially approved. (There were a lot more tears that day.)

We are adopting locally, and are hoping to adopt two siblings under the age of six. So far our home study has been put forward a few times, but we haven't been matched yet.

We are extremely blessed that our family, friends and co-workers have all been supportive of our decision and are eager to help in any way they can. They're also very interested in the process, and in our progress so we've created an adoption blog called Lessons in Patience. If you're interested in our adoption story please feel free to check it out.

If you have any questions about our journey or about the process here in NS I'm happy to help in any way I can.

 xo.

PS: Our adoption photos were taken by Melissa Harding. Please check her out if you're in the Halifax area! We highly recommend her. :-)
